CCAR to implement new activities for farmers, financed under the Growth Plan
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry will implement, by the end of 2026, through the Agricultural and Rural Advisory Center, a series of activities aimed at supporting agricultural producers, financed under the European Union Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova.
The activities planned under the Growth Plan are designed to support the establishment and development of the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) by bringing together key actors — research, education, advisory services, and farmers — into a functional system. Through training, mentoring, and advisory services, knowledge transfer and the uptake of innovative solutions are facilitated directly at farm level, contributing to improved economic performance of farmers.
“The activities we will implement aim to make agricultural advisory services more accessible to farmers and better aligned with market requirements. The main focus will be on practical applicability: from training and mentoring to on-farm advisory support, enabling producers to make more informed decisions, increase productivity, and become more competitive,” said Carolina Chiper, Director of the Agricultural and Rural Advisory Center.
The planned activities include basic training for advisors, including advisors from Agricultural Chambers and specialists from the research sector. In total, three training programmes are envisaged. At the same time, training sessions tailored to the needs identified at sector level will be organised for farmers.
A strong focus will be placed on the transfer of best practices through the implementation of a farmer-to-farmer mentoring programme, in which experienced producers will guide those at the early stages of their activity. In parallel, farmers will benefit from advisory services covering the entire production cycle, as well as training aimed at developing entrepreneurial and management skills.
Within the Growth Plan, dedicated events for the agricultural sector will also be organised, including the AgroFin Fair for Agricultural and Rural Development Financing and the National AgroCunoștințe Forum — platforms designed to facilitate knowledge exchange, improve access to information, and connect farmers with development and financing opportunities.
