Innovation and knowledge transfer Agricultural and Rural Advisory Center
The Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Department, which is one of the subdivisions of the Agricultural and Rural Advisory Center (ARAC), aims to promote and implement innovations by transferring research results to farmers and rural communities. In this way, we contribute to enhancing the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainable development of agriculture and the rural environment.
The mission of the Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Department is to facilitate farmers’ and rural entrepreneurs’ access to innovations and best practices through knowledge transfer and collaboration with research institutes.
The main functions of the department are:
- Developing and implementing programs to promote innovation and knowledge transfer in agriculture and rural development;
- Establishing and managing partnerships with universities, research institutions and advanced knowledge practitioners to facilitate the adoption and development of innovations;
- Supporting the transfer of knowledge and innovations from scientific research and innovation institutions, practitioners with advanced knowledge to agricultural and rural development stakeholders;
- Planning and organizing knowledge transfer events (seminars, master classes, workshops, conferences and other events) for farmers;
- Providing informational support for start-ups and entrepreneurial initiatives in agriculture and rural development;
- Identifying and facilitating access for agricultural and rural producers to sources of financing, at both national and European and/or international level.
The responsibilities of the Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Department include organizing a series of events, such as:
- Knowledge transfer seminars focused on presenting modern agricultural technologies or sustainable resource management;
- Practical workshops or educational and professional events that emphasize the application of knowledge and skill development through interactive sessions and practical exercises. These are organized in such a way as to provide participants with the opportunity to experiment, test, and implement concepts under the guidance and assistance of experts;
- Scientific knowledge transfer seminars dedicated to exchanging information and ideas between researchers, specialists, and practitioners, aimed at facilitating access to new results obtained through research activities and their application in the agricultural sector and other related fields;
- Scientific and practical workshops dedicated to academic and professional activities that combine theory with practice, with the goal of promoting the transfer of knowledge and skills between researchers, specialists, and practitioners, analyzing current issues, presenting innovations, and determining applicable solutions;
- Seminars or interactive meetings where participants learn, discuss, and develop skills in a specific area. All participants are actively engaged, and the activities are focused on a specific theme or goal.
The department, in collaboration with the Center’s subdivisions, can organize special conferences or events to bring together people with common interests in the agri-food sector for information exchange, idea discussion, and networking.
At the request of producer associations, local action groups (LAGs), and entrepreneurs’ cooperatives, the department, together with trainers, determines the theme of the planned event, the location, and the target audience, offers didactic resources, and prepares recommendations developed by the trainers.
